We were especially impressed with the way the crowd came together for craft beer and didn’t let a little thing like a torrential downpour dampen (yes…intentionally used) their craft beer desires. Most people waited out the rain under the pavilion or in brewers’ tents and we watched parts of the park turn into small rivers. But, as soon as the rain slowed down and it looked like it was clearing out, there was a collective cheer from the crowd and the beer lines formed up again right away. Way to go, Austin!
Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, signed into law the most sweeping craft beer legislation of the last 20 years, improving the overall competitiveness of the Texas craft beer market. The laws, which go into effect immediately, are the result of the hard work of numerous stakeholders in the craft beer industry, including the Texas Craft Brewers Guild (TCBG), large brewers, distributors, retailers, and the grass roots consumer movement, Open the Taps. The TCBG applauds this progressive step forward in making Texas the epicenter of craft beer development and growth.
