I moved to Austin from North Carolina after college in 2002 to work at Dell, and never expected I would end up opening a brewery and putting my roots down here. We lived in England for three years and had the opportunity to explore most of Europe, visiting every brewery and pub we could along the way. This was our inspiration for opening Vista: to create a beautiful destination where folks can unplug and enjoy the Texas Hill Country. In 2014 we really noticed how the craft beer scene in Texas had grown. We planned and planned and planned some more (love that Brewery in Planning membership!) and took the leap to leave our corporate jobs and create a business we are proud of, that we can do together and for our family. Vista opened in the spring of 2018, and we love being a part of this awesome Texas craft beer community. It’s hard work, but I love owning a small business; particularly one that creates a place for friends and family to make happy memories. To me, the Guild embodies small business – employing passionate people, partnering with other small businesses and creating community gathering spaces, and I'm thrilled to be on the Guild's board to advocate for the needs of fellow small businesses. I love giving back to the community, particularly for organizations dedicated to women in business and leadership. I’m an active member of our Austin Pink Boots Chapter and our children’s school programs.
